EVENT Voices from the Waters brings over 35 films on water
T he sixth edition of “Voices from the Waters”, an international film festival on water, will begin on August 25 in Bangalore and end with a one-day conference on water on August 29.
The festival is being organised by the Bangalore Film Society in collaboration with a consortium of institutions. Over thirty five films from around the world will be screened across six venues including the Alliance Francaise de Bangalore between August 26 and August 28 from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
The festival will be inaugurated by playback singer, actress and environmental activist Vasundhara Das on August 25 at 5.30 p.m. at the Christ University. The festival will also include painting and photo exhibitions, art installations, interactions with film directors, water scholars, grass root level water voices, and water songs.
There will also be special screenings of the films for high school students at Balbhavan, Cubbon Park. The festival will feature the world premiere of films like “The Well: Water Voices from Ethiopia”, directed by Paolo Barbieri and Riccardo Russo and “The Waterfall”, directed by Parvez Imam.
