EVENT To create awareness on the need to seek help for suicidal tendencies

In view of World Suicide Prevention Day (on September 10), Sneha, a city-based NGO, organises a series of events to create awareness among the public about the need to fight the stigma attached to seeking help for depression or suicidal tendencies.

On September 9, it will hold a flash mob at Besant Nagar beach at 6 p.m., and the next day at Tambaram Railway Station around 3 p.m.

The flash mobs will consist of students from colleges who, through dance and mime, will convey the message.

In addition to these, film screenings, cycle rallies, candle lighting, competitions such as poster making, poetry and essay writing, street plays, and similar events have been planned across the city and State, in association with around 35 colleges.
