Terumo Penpol Limited is organising an all-Kerala essay competition on ‘The Kerala Paradox: Literacy Champion; Blood Donation Failure’ for high school and Plus Two students.

Blood is constantly needed to save lives. Accident victims, those suffering from severe anaemia, cancer, haemophilia and thalassemia need safe blood. Pregnancy-related complications in women also require blood.

Sufficient, safe blood supply is a key part of an effective health care system and essential for preventing AIDS. The basis for an adequate supply of safe blood is a pool of healthy, regular, voluntary donors.

The essay competition on ‘The Kerala Paradox: Literacy Champion; Blood Donation Failure’ is aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation.

There will be separate prizes for Malayalam and English competitions.

Those who wish to participate may send the entries along with an attestation letter from the head of the institution to the Public Relations Officer, Terumo Penpol Limited, Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram -10.
