FOOD STATION Celebrate Holi with this ever popular traditional sweet

This is a melt-in-the-mouth sweet dish. A speciality of the present Holi season, it is available in almost all the sweet shops around the city.

However, it is certainly not what you will often make at home.

So this weekend, why not try it out and here is how to go about it.

Gujiya

Ingredients

500 gm refined flour

500 gm sugar

150 gm dalda ghee

500 gm khoya

50 gm coconut (grated)

100 gm cashewnut

100 gm raisin

100 gm powdered sugar

200 ml water

Method Take refined flour, add 150 gms of dalda ghee and kneed the dough by adding water. Make small equal size balls of the dough. Roll with rolling pin in round shape, add the stuffing and seal the sides by putting water on sides, make them half moon shape.

Fry on slow fire and dip gujiya in chashni. Allow it to cool and serve.

For the stuffing

Grate khoya and cook it in a pan over slow fire and let it cool. Add in cashewnuts, raisins, grated coconut, and powdered sugar.
