Our responsibility lies in controlling the disease and making all our dwelling places free from items that foster the growth of mosquitoes. Places of water storage, marshy areas, troughs and items such as discarded plastic bottles and pots and old tyres should be done away with. Local body administration should ensure effective steps in monitoring public places with special care. Littering, spitting and urinating in open places should be checked and awareness about dengue should be explained to all. School students should be taught about the consequences of the diseases and the need for a healthier environment. As rainy season is expected, stern and steady actions are to be implemented to eradicate dengue. Self medication should be avoided if dengue or any similar disease is detected. Proper medical attention is essential to fight dengue.
