Event The Attakkalari India Biennial, a 10-day international festival of dance kicks off tomorrow
Choreographers, artistes and art practitioners from around the world will take Bangalore by storm from January 25, for The Attakkalari India Biennial, a 10-day international festival of dance .
Over 200 artists from 22 countries will come together for a a number of performances based on the theme of “Frames of Dance”. Lights, sound, films and conversations will act in tandem to capture the essence of dance in its various forms and facets.
The festival begins with the enthralling The Manganiyar Seduction conceptualised by Delhi-based theatre director Roysten Abel at the Jayamahal Palace Hotel Grounds.
Over the next 10 days Bangalore will be privy to a series of shows held throughout the city in different venues including Ranga Shankara, Chowdiah Memorial Hall and Alliance Francaise. In addition to the shows, a number of master classes and workshops will be conducted.
Tickets are available at Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, at Ranga Shankara for the shows staged there and at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on the days of the shows. Bookings can also be done online on www.bookmyshow.com.
