Sons and daughters came together to cook for their moms

A ctor Rana was among the few who donned the chef's hat to whip up delicacies for their mothers on Sunday, Mothers Day. A cooking contest had sons and daughters competing in showing their culinary skills. Rana chose to prepare a mushroom omelette and Aditya Veer was spotted preparing a whole wheat pasta in pesto sauce for his mother Beenu Singh.

The contest was judged by Karen Campos Bhatia, nutritionist at Apollo Life, on six parameters — communication, team work, presentation, nutrition value, easy digestibility and hygiene. Deepa Khurana's daughter Sachi won the first prize for her cheese omelette; Jyothi Singh's daughter Richa won the second for her chicken-vegetable sauté and the youngest participant Advaitika won the third for the vegetable salad she made for her mom Shalini Bhadruka.

Rana distributed the gift hampers to the winners. Chandni Bhupal, Vinita Pittie, Dr. Divya and Sangeetha Reddy were the others who joined the cooking keeping with the spirit of the occasion.

The contest was organised by B+ve magazine at Taj Krishna. Designer Anand Kabra lent his creative touch to design packaged drinking water bottles, the proceeds from the sales went to S.A.C.H (Save A Child's Heart) Foundation.
