EVENT Calling photographers to capture the city's many textures

Art Chennai and Goethe Institut, in association with Travelling Lens, invite amateur and professional photographers to submit their works for “A Week in the Life of Chennai”, a public photographic art project. It is on till 26, and coincides with the 2012 Art Chennai festival.  Photographers must create a public document of Chennai by submitting photographs that will be displayed as large-scale prints in select public spaces. Up to 10 photographs could be submitted in one or more of the following themes.

Chennai by Night; Commuting / Transport; Hidden Chennai; Dichotomy; Community; Religious Chennai; Markets; The Beach; Food; Portrait / Self Portrait / Body and Form; Cityscape / Landscape; Heritage; Art and Culture; Industry; Walls of Chennai; and Conceptual.

Travelling Lens will hold two free workshops on Composition on February 21 and 22 at the Goethe Institut, in which photographer Yannick Cormier will provide guidance on the types of photos the team is seeking for this competition.  The last date for submission is by 11.59 p.m. on February 27.  Selections will be announced on March 3. There is no participation fee.
