Toss in vegetables, fruits and nuts for an interesting salad

Salads, if dished up interestingly, can be a meal in themselves. Here are a few recipes for you to try out.

Fruit and vegetable

Ingredients Bananas - 2
Guava -1
Apple - 1
Orange (remove segments) - 1
Red pomegranate - 1 cup
Green grapes (seedless) - 1 cup
Boiled potato - 1
Cucumber - 1
Tomato - 1
Green chillies - 3-4
A small piece of ginger
Lemon juice - 2-3
Chat masala - 2 tbsp
Black salt - 1 tsp
Jeera powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt and pepper to tasteCoriander leaves, cherries (for garnish) Method: Peel and chop all the fruits and vegetables into big pieces. Sprinkle lemon juice immediately to prevent discolouration. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and cherries. Serve chilled.

Paneer and kabuli chana

Ingredients
Boiled Kabuli chana - 2 teacups
Tomatoes (chopped) - 1 teacup
Paneer pieces (chopped into
small square pieces) - 1 teacup
Capsicum (chopped) - 1/2 teacup
Spring onions (chopped) - 1/2 teacup
Chat masala - 1 tbsp
Roasted jeera powder - 1 tsp
Black salt - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 2-3
A small piece of ginger
Salt and pepper to taste
Coriander leaves - 4 tbsp (for garnish) Method Mix the kabuli chana, paneer, tomatoes, capsicum and spring onions in it. Add the lemon juice, black salt, jeera powder, chat masala, salt and pepper. Mix well. Serve chilled.SUJATA MALANI
