The Kerala crafts show offers a range of artefacts
Carved sandalwood figurines and rosewood elephants dressed in pooram finery, kasava saris and nettur boxes — all these and more beckon at the Kairali-sponsored Kerala Crafts Exhibition on at Kamadhenu Kalayna Mandapam on Luz Church Road.
Also choose from bell metal lamps and Kathakali masks, urlis filled with jasmine flowers. Those who love everything eco-friendly can go in for the textured banana fibre and pineapple fibre table mats, enhanced with patchwork embroidery.
Etched silver-coated brass cutlery and carved countrywood wall stands and brackets are also on display. So are colourful Burmese enamel items such as mugs and teapots.
Thendril Self Help Group has put up a stall of attractive jute bags in the exhibition, that concludes on May 15.PUSHPA CHARI
