EVENT The Chenna iAdoption Drive will be held on January 29

Looking to adopt a furry family member? Check out the eighth Chennai Adoption Drive. Healthy kittens, puppies and dogs that were rescued will be available for adoption free of cost. These animals are looking for loving, permanent families. Adoptions will require ID and address proof, and mandatory follow-up visits will be conducted later to check on the pets.

The Chennai Adoption Drive, founded by Anuradha Manish Chawla and Jennifer Jacob-Murali Anand, is supported by actor Trisha, whose rescued puppies also found homes during these events. Since their inception last year, they have found adoptive families for over 200 rescued animals. To encourage the public to join their network, the founders have instituted a contest this time. Conducted on their Facebook page (, the group asks people to share their stories of how they rescued or adopted their pets. The most hilarious, heart-warming or inspirational stories (as decided by the number of Likes on the post) will win a calendar of Chennai Adoption Drive, autographed by Trisha and a a goodie bag for their pets. Names of prize-winners will be announced at the event.

The Drive will be held at No. 6, First Avenue, Boat Club Road, Near Hotel Park Sheraton, Kotturpuram on January 29 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.. For details, call 89393-11148 or 90253-89033.
