STAR TRACK Former Australian pace bowler Brett Lee says having a pet at home is a great way to beat stress
Acricketer’s fitness level would naturally be attributed to the sport and a rigorous daily exercise routine, but Australian cricketer Brett Lee, cites his love for dogs as a reason for his good health. An ambassador for an internationally known pet food brand, the bowler, known as ‘Pet Lee’ because of his love for dogs, says, “Having a dog at home can help you beat stress and loneliness.”
Considered once as one of the fastest bowlers in the world, Lee does not miss out on his gym session integral to which is a cardio work-out.
Excited about the City Sixes, which is going to be held on December 21, Lee is following a demanding fitness schedule in preparation for the event. “My aim is to bowl at a speed of over 150 kmph for 20 consecutive overs. But for that you need to be mentally and physically strong,” says Lee, adding that even injuries can be overcome with a proper diet and fitness regimen. He says youngsters who idolise him should be inspired by his determination to keep fit and healthy and play the game to the best of his ability.
