The film now on home video

Good news for those who have been longing to see the controversial cult film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America. The film has been released directly on home video. Also known as Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is a 2006 mockumentary comedy film directed by Larry Charles and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film was released on VCD by Excel Home Videos.

The film was written and produced by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen who also essayed the protagonist’s role of a fictitious Kazakh journalist travelling through the United States, recording real-life interactions with Americans.

The film ran into controversies even before it was released. All Arab countries, except for Lebanon, banned it and the Russian government discouraged its cinemas to screen it.
