Health New Milk and Cookie Disease on the rise among kids

Adoctor has said that children’s love of milk, macaroni and cheese, and dessert is causing more than just a sugar rush and is actually causing a disease.

Pediatric otolaryngologist Julie L. Wei, who treats children with diseases of the ear, nose and throat, calls the problem Milk and Cookie Disease.

Wei has spent years treating kids otherwise healthy, but suffering from chronic runny and stuffy noses, coughs, sore throats, constipation, and fatigue and even after kids didn’t improve on medications, she started asking questions.

In many cases, she found that the patients consumed lots of dairy and sugar throughout the day and snacked just before going to bed. This food most likely backed up into the stomach, the oesophagus, and the throat and caused reflux, cold and allergy-like symptoms and sleep problems.
