A festival of Brazilian films from May 4 to 6The International Cine Appreciation Forum, in association with the Embassy of Brazil, New Delhi organises a Brazilian Film Festival from May 4 to 6 at the South Indian Film Chamber Theatre, 606, Anna Salai. The festival opens with "The Other Side of The Street" on May 4, 6.15 p.m. Regina, a lonely 65-year-old, works on the neighbourhood watch for the police in Copacabana. Snooping on everybody in the locality, she is believed to have witnessed an ex-cop commit murder. She ends up getting involved with a suspect in a potentially dangerous chain of events that forces her to take stock of her life. It will be followed by "Zico The Life of a Brazilian Footballer" . As the youngest of six brothers, Arthur Antunes Coimbra, could never imagine the success he would have as a soccer player when he first started to play for the club Flamengo.On May 5, "The Wedding of Romeo and Julietta", at 3.15 p.m. will be screened. A Romeo and Juliet kind of love affair. But what sets the two lovers apart here is their soccer teams.This will be followed by "Where Have You Been?" at 5 p.m. Felicio, an old comedian, becomes decadent after his partner Mandarims', the lover of his wife Paloma, suicide. He leaves Sao Paulo for the faraway state of Piaui in search of a new partner.On May 6, "Two Sons of Francisco" will be screened at 4 p.m. The story revolves around Francisco, a poor man, whose dream it is to see his children become country music stars.For details call 98401 51956.
