The love storyset amidst the greenery andvibrancy of Punjab is inspiredfrom the epic love tales ofSohni-Mahiwal and Heer-Ranjha. It explores a love storythat grows amidst class battleswhich still exists inPunjab. Actor Achint Kaur, who portrays the role of PreetBehenji in the soap, says thatthough her role may seemnegative at first , she hasworked hard to let the characterremain grey and not negative. In town to promote theserial, the artiste who hascarved a niche for herself withstrong and bold roles like BanegiApni Baat and Kitty Party, says, "The reason to choosethe show was because a lot ofpeople would be able to relateto it. The show carries a message. It speaks of the baggage alot of people carry in the nameof culture, religion and ritualsand how it can sometimespose a threat for the individualliving within the society." .

Having born and brought upin a small town like Meerut,Achint can identify with theconservative way of living.Coupled with her sharp features,it helps her not just inthe essaying of the characterbut also lends credibility to it. .Having grown up idolisingsuperwomen like Kiran Bedi, she wants to spread a messageto all the women in the countrythat they need to be confidentand self-respecting. Andthat's why, negative or positive, her choices of roles havealways been of women whoare strong and determined, she sums up.
