Today phrases such as ‘made for each other’ and ‘soul mate’ seem a tad overused, but spending time with Esha Deol and her businessman husband Bharat Takhtani, you can’t help but think they make a perfect fit. The couple who walked the ramp on day four of the India Bridal Fashion Week 2012 for Azva, looked resplendent with Esha in a lehenga showing off a gorgeous Azva necklace and earrings, and Bharat looking just as striking in a sherwani.

Now enjoying her married life, Esha has decided to become more selective about the kind of roles she takes up. Following in her mother’s footsteps she says, “My dream role would be to play Razia Sultan. I can’t think of a more dignified role than that.”

Sharing her opinion on the rising popularity of destination weddings in India she says, “It’s a personal choice whether you want to have a traditional wedding or a beach wedding. I wanted a traditional wedding because I got to sit on my father’s lap. I loved having a traditional temple wedding.”

Esha, who is a trained Odissi dancer, is planning a new project. She is working on a contemporary dance ballet on her own.
