My hands and palms are hard and rough. Suggest tips to make them soft and smooth. — Geethanjali
Detergents can make your hands and palms rough. Wear rubber gloves while doing washing chores. After using detergents, wash your hands and apply a cream while the skin is still damp, massaging it into the skin. This helps seal in the moisture. You can also add pure almond oil to warm water and soak your hands in it for 10 minutes. Then massage oil or cream into the skin.
My hair is thin. I use oil to make it thick but without result. The tips are brown. I cut them but when the hair grows they become brown. — Aiswaria
Diet is important for healthy hair. Your diet should include the required amount of protein. Include sprouts, curd, paneer, dal and beans in your diet. If you are a non-vegetarian, eat fish and chicken. Make fresh fruits and salads a must in your daily diet. Applying curd or egg half-an-hour before shampooing your hair helps add body to it. Mix one teaspoon of castor oil with one tablespoon of pure coconut oil. Heat it and apply it on your hair twice a week at night. Apply it on the ends too. Leave it on overnight and wash your hair the next day. Use a mild herbal shampoo. Cover your hair with a scarf or dupatta when you are out in the sun.
My face is plump and round. My hair is a little long. Which hairstyle will suit me? — Radsri
Style depends on the hair texture. Your hair can be fuller at the top, to give length to your face. It can fall straight down, with layers, curls or waves at the end. The layers should begin at chin level, to avoid adding width to the sides. The first layer, up to chin level can turn inwards. Consult a good hairdresser, who will take both hair texture and face shape into consideration.
I have oily skin and oily hair. Can I use egg on my hair? — Nasreen
Mix witch hazel and rose water in equal quantities. Soak cotton wool in it and wipe your face twice a day. If you cannot get witch hazel, buy an astringent lotion and mix two parts of it with one part of rose water and use it in the same way. Mix multani mitti with rose water into a paste and apply it on your face. Wash it off when it is dry. Wash your hair three or four times a week, using a mild herbal shampoo. Use less shampoo, but rinse it off well. After shampooing your hair, add the juice of a lemon to half a mug of water and use it as a last rinse. Egg white helps reduce oiliness. Apply it on your hair half an hour before shampooing it. Weekly henna treatments will help.
