EVENT Two-day festival SaMaaGaMa 2012

EAmbalam presents the SaMaaGaMa 2012 , an outdoor arts festival. As part of the festival, it hosts free interactive workshops and performances across Classical and non-Classical performing arts genres. It will be held at Nageswara Rao Park, Mylapore on December 15 and 16.

SaMaaGaMa is open to those interested in performing arts, including children, singers, dancers and students. The interactive workshops will be held in areas such as Kalari, theatre, origami, Tai Chi, art and life, yoga, meditation, joy of rhythm, Odissi, Lavani, slokas for relaxation, gamakas, raga swarupa, percussion and arts in education. There are also performances by Sriram Gangadharan (vocal); Kasim and Babu (nadaswaram); S.S. Kalairaani (Tamil theatre); Sujatha Mohapatra (Odissi); Karmic Blues (global fusion); Akathakahani (about Kabir); Anupama Bhagwat (sitar); Yakshagana (Kannada folk theatre); Smitha Rajan (Mohiniattam); and V.V. Subrahmanyam (violin).
