For spiritual tours

Pilgrimages need not mean travelling as a large group and being herded around like cattle by the organisers. With a little planning, you can make a spiritual tour a truly uplifting experience

Decide the duration

Don’t cram too many places into your itinerary. The idea of going on such a tour is to attain inner calm.

Health factors

Are you fit enough to climb uphill on snow-clad peaks? Can your lungs handle the lack of oxygen? Ask yourself these questions before embarking on a tour. If the answer is ‘no’, opt for relatively easier pilgrimages.

Details matter

While planning a pilgrimage, try and see if you can fit in different facets of a place in your itinerary. See if your hosts have a facility for meditation. Nothing like connecting with your soul in snow-clad environs. If they run a charity, do your bit by serving food or helping distribute Prasad. It is fulfilling.
