India was at last a Grand Prix winner at the annual Cannes advertising awards function. JWT Mumbai won the award for its Lead India campaign, which also won a couple of Gold Lions.
Closer home, JWT Madras won a Silver Lion, a Bronze Lion and a ‘Nomination’ (that’s for being a category finalist, so to speak). The Silver Lion was for the Press advertising of Reynolds Permanent Marker ‘Twins’ for GM Pens, Madras, the Bronze was for the ‘Stretch Festival’ promotion campaign for the Government of Puducherry, and the Merit Award (‘Nomination’) was for the Yellowrippers campaign for sulekha.com, Chennai.
Another feather in JWT Madras’s cap was the invitation to its creative head to serve on the prestigious Cannes Lions 2008 jury.
Senthil Kumar, Executive Creative Director, Madras, as a member of the jury, helped select the best work created during the past year in the entire industry from over 80 countries across the world.
