Packed with biking stunts, style and fun, Champ which is being telecast on Bindaas every Friday and Saturday, carries the age-old theme of friendship, love triangle and betrayal. The actors of this popular TV serial were in Delhi recently for a shoot sequence for the show, the story of which revolves around two childhood friends: Raj, played by Himanshu Malhotra, and Dhruv, by Ajay Singh Chaudhary, sharing a passion for bikes, and Sameera played by Aarohi Mishra who also is a biker!
Talking of the serial Ajay who has in his kitty two Hindi movies where he plays the lead role said, “Dhruv is a struggling boy of a middle class family. He wants to be a super biker and is best friends with Raj. Then we have our own gang called Tashan and the rivals, Macho. It is interesting to note the developments in their friendship, the bond, the misunderstandings.”
Aarohi, who was a contestant at the Miss 2006 pageant, is a family-oriented girl and had to put in efforts to become Sameera, the rough, rugged biker. “I found it a little scary to ride a bike at first but with practice, it’s enjoyable. The show is so much fun, tailored for the adventure-loving youngsters who want to enjoy life to the fullest,” said Aarohi.
Himanshu was injured while shooting a chase sequence. Believing that it takes lots of efforts to show skidding, 360-degree turns, riding the stairs and other bike stunts on television, Himanshu said, “Films are a different genre. Television serials, I don’t think have ever come up with such adventures.” Talking of influence of reel on real life and vice versa, he accepted the effects that such stunts could have on young boys and girls. “But then they always come with a warning, ‘don’t try this at home’ types. Looking at the brighter side, there is a spirit of friendship and love blooming in this show. It’s about life, emotions, competition and risks.
