There will be a talk on Mysore’s history
The Bangalore International centre (BIC) is ready with its fourth event. In its “Airtel Manthan Arts & Culture Series” – the centre is presenting an illustrated talk on “Reminiscences of the Mysore Palace” by Rajkumari Urmila Devi Kotda-Sangani. For Urmila Devi, the niece of late Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, this presentation is like a personal walk through the annals of the Wadiyar family . The talk focuses on Urmila Devi’s personal choice of people she admires for their contributions to Mysore and the country. Intertwined with the historical narrative are personal reminiscences. Her talk is also part of an educational seminar, Royal Legacy - Vijayanagara to Mysore, organised by Kannada Vrinda, Houston, in association with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Urmila Devi is the Honorary Secretary of the International Music and Arts Society founded by her mother Rani Vijaya Devi.
