The theatre, Adlabs Jeeva Rukmani, has become the latest hub for moviegoers, especially for fans of Kamal Hassan. Huge banners of the movie decorate the entrance to the theatre, and a unending queue lines up outside the ticket counters.
Adlabs Cinemas, part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and Adlabs Films, presently has 170 screens spread across 65 properties nation-wide. The Puducherry theatre offers many facilities, from great sound systems to comfortable seats.
Located on Kamaraj Salai, Adlabs Jeeva Rukmani has two screens and a seating capacity of 1,178. For Dasavathasram, the theatre screened its first show at 6.45 a.m. with frenzied fans thronging the place early in the morning. Happy with the response in the coastal town, an Adlabs official said: “The response in Puducherry has been fabulous. Almost all the shows are running houseful. We started with five shows a screen in the opening weekend. This week, we are screening four shows a screen.”
The theatre has state-of-the-art sound and projection technology with ‘crystal-clear’ Dolby sound and superior Xenon project systems. The red plush push-back seats provide a comfortable movie-watching experience.
Besides this, there are three food and beverage counters. “We follow a standard format at all our theatres for the best cinema viewing experience,” the official added. Adlabs is all set to launch online booking through its website, and soon, . you could also book tickets through mobile phones. You can also send feedback on the Adlabs experience through SMS, thanks to a facility called ‘Wow’.
