EACH A TREAT The focus of Millers is steaks and sizzlers, pastas, and plenty of bakes

Millers 46 is just the perfect place for meat-eaters and seafood lovers

Millers 46 is situated in Bangalore on Millers Road. This place that gets its name from the road on which it is housed is a steak house and saloon. The place is also designed to look like the wild western world. It is dominantly done in wood and even the chairs are also designed to look like a barbeque fire. Even the door and the menu are designed to simply flip open. All you need is a cowboy gear to add on that wild touch. While you soak in the ambience, Jude Koshy, the young proprietor, explains all about the place. "We started four years ago. Now I plan to expand the place". Fascinated by the food industry, Jude decided to get into it on his own. The focus of Millers is steaks and sizzlers, pastas, Mexican food and plenty of bakes. For us Jude recommends the twice-marinated steak, which is the chefs signature steak accompanied by two sauces. Capalachi, chicken ravioli served with tangy crème and thyme sauce and the vegetarian casserole cubes of bell peppers, mushroom, onions and macaroni served with pie dish. While the first was a huge chunk of beef marinated and grilled to perfection, you can add in the levels of sauces according to the spice levels. The second had tiny chicken wanton like pieces soaked in a rich cheesy cream. This bland dish grows on you as the original flavours of the meat and the cheese comes through in a subtle way. The Indian palate, however, takes more easily to vegetarian casserole dish as it is dominated with familiar vegetables and spices. Must say each one was a treat in itself. But one honest confession — better go there on an empty stomach or plan an early dinner so that you are able to digest at least some of the cheese levels by bedtime. Though the place is a treat for meat and seafood eaters, it does not disappoint vegetarians either. There are plenty of crunchy salads and veg grills that simply sizzle on your dining table. But how do Bangaloreans react to the food at Millers 46? "The crowd today focuses on specialty foods. They don't mind paying to be entertained and are more adventurous when it comes to food," says Jude.To reach out to more number of people, Millers takes the barbeque to residences on order. That is if you are hosting a party in your garden and wish to treat your guests to grilled delights, Jude will send his team with the grills and the works to stir up something exotic on the spot for you.He also offers home delivery "within five kilometre radius".This 70-seater joint is also open to parties for a group below 25 members. It also has a special menu for children that offers chicken nuggets and fries, potato wedges and so on. "These," explains Jude, "are designed in such a way that they are easy for the children to eat by themselves and we use tender meat so its is easy on their tummies too."Millers can be contacted on 4113 1746.M.V.
