This refers to the Green Notes column "Sweet and sour surprise" (August 22). It is amazing that the commonly grown kodukkapuli (Pithecellobium dulce) has so many medicinal uses - it is a remedy for convulsions, leprosy, peptic ulcer and toothache. It is also common to see our farmers feeding their goats leaves of the tree, which are packed with nutrition. I feel a scientific study by the R & D wing of IMPCOPS (a co-operative) as well as the Government College of Indigenous Medicine and Research in Tamil Nadu will throw more light on kodukkapuli.K.
