The audio of “Aanandha Thandavam” was released recently
It was a coffee shop on Peters Road and one could spot artists such as Siddarth, Tamanna, director Gandhi Krishna, music director G. V. Prakash Kumar and Nandhini from Sony BMG. They were present for the audio release of “Aanandha Thandavam”, produced by Aascar Films.
Asked what the filming experience was like, director Gandhi Krishna said it was fantastic. “The story was by written by Sujatha more than 20 years ago. I got his permission to make it into a film before his demise. He wanted it to be made in a different format and I have followed his wish. More than half of the film, including a song, was shot in New York, Atlantic City and Las Vegas in the U.S. The theme is based on virtual reality which is novel to the Tamil audience.” The cast includes Siddarth, Tamanna, Rukmini, Kitti, Rishi and Madan Bob and the screenplay direction is by A. R. Gandhi Krishna. There are six songs in the album. The title number is rendered by Navin Iyer and G. V. Prakash Kumar. Four of the five songs are over five minutes long. The best one is ‘Poovinai’, sung by Srinivas and Shreya Ghosal. It is melodious. Another good number is ‘Kallil Aadum’, sung by Benny and Shweta. ‘Kanaa Kangiren’ by Shubha Mudgal, Nithyashree and Vinitra has a touch of the classical from the word ‘go’. ‘Megam Pola’ by Shankar Mahadevan is lovely. Vairamuthu who has penned the lyrics of all the songs, has done a great job. The last number ‘Pattu Poochi’ (but that is the first in the album) sung by Naresh Iyer makes good listening.S. R.
