Students show their commitment towards environment

Nearly 100 volunteers from Vasavi College of Engineering had a busy Sunday. The youngsters participated in a clean-up drive and showed how committed they are in making wise environmental choices. The cleaning process was organised around Langar Houz and Golconda. The students were seen sweeping the roads, collecting waste, planting trees and spreading awareness among the people residing in the localities.

With their cultural fest scheduled on March 14-16, the students of Vasavi choose the ‘Clean and Green’ theme so that they can contribute their ideas and bring awareness on global warming.

“Youngsters being concerned about environment is vital as they are not only its best ambassadors but also future caretakers,” said actor Vishnu who came down to support the cause.

“If each one of us makes small changes in our daily lives, it will go a long way in caring for and sustaining the environment,” said student co-ordinator Chaitanya.

``“The Clean and Green Drive helped us to enjoy the works of our classmates. These kind of activities help us to engage our minds into activities which are not only fun but also help the environment. We hope to continue these programmes in our localities too,” said convenor ecophoria ’08 Kapil Reddy.
