The first in a series of films on the CBI, this film introduced the iconic Sethurama Iyer, the no-nonsense, shrewd CBI officer superbly played by Mammooty. The story tells the nature of a murder investigation by the CBI officer and the uncovering of the crime in a thrilling manner. The film became a trendsetter of sorts, and is also known for its fantastic title score by Shyam.
