From the gates of Greece to the shores of Troy, King Agamemnon's greed, Achilles' rage, and finally a Trojan horse that destroyed an empire, Homer's The Illiad is a story of love, greed, power and ambition. When a Trojan prince convinces the Queen of Sparta to leave her husband and sail home with him, all hell breaks loose. The incident sparks one of the greatest wars of the century. A war between the Trojans who have never been defeated before, and the Greeks who have Achilles, the greatest warrior in the world, on their side. Brad Pitt is amazing as the fierce yet arrogant Achilles. Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom excel as the Trojan princes who love and care for each other. Diane Kruger portrays the beautiful Helen of Troy, the woman for whom two nations went in battle. Peter O'Toole plays the aging King Priam. Wolfgang Peterson's direction is top notch. With lavish production designs, a good crew and a mesmerising background score, Troy is a film of epic proportions.
