Vijay TV’s Airtel Super Singer contest for 2008, for those above 16 years to showcase their singing talent, is on. Stay on to watch the three-day event, to be aired from July 7, Monday - Wednesday, 21.00.
The contest will have a few rounds of intense competition followed by eliminations and those selected will move on to various levels eventually leading to the finals.
Viewers will also get a chance to vote for their preferred singers. The winner of Airtel Super Singer 2008 will get an opportunity to lend their voice to Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music.
Playback singers Sunitha Sarathy and Deepan Chakravarthy will be the judges for the ground auditions at Chennai including playback singers such as Prashanthi, Rajalakshmi and Vinaya as the preliminary judges.
Only 15 talented contestants will proceed from this zone to the finals.
In the audition rounds held at Coimbatore and Tiruchi, singers S.P.Shylaja & Srilekha Parthasarathy, (Coimbatore) and Mahathi & Mathangi, (Tiruchi) selected 15 participants from each zone.Little Master Season 2

Makkal TV has been telecasting Russian films on alternate Sundays at 14.00. These war movies are being telecast with Tamil subtitles, for the benefit of the viewers.
This week’s film will be ‘The Passion,’ a movie with seven different stories with Andrei, the protagonist, appearing in all these.
Each happens in different settings during different periods of time. The film is directed by Andrei Tarkovsky.
