Five years after a tsunami hit the Indian ocean, the programme narrates the ordeal of people who were hit by one of the deadliest disasters in history.

On Christmas eve, 2004, across the Indian Ocean, tourists from around the globe were enjoying dream holidays in the sun.

But none of the them knew that the very next day their video cameras would capture one of the most devastating natural disasters in recorded history, which would leave nearly 2,50,000 dead in 14 countries.

This programme is a moving true story of the tsunami told through the eyes of those who were there.

Shot by ordinary people across the tsunami's huge impact area, the remarkable amateur footage reveals what happened when the waves, caused by a massive underwater earthquake, hit land.
