A natharanga, a creative amateur group, has organised a two day “Hasya Mela-2010: In memory of late humourist Beechi and popular comedian Dinesh” and “a seven-day Drama Festival” on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
Renowned humourists Gangavathi Pranesh, Sudha Baragur, Prof. Krishne Gowda, Umashri, Narasimha Joshi, Mysore Anand, Y.V. Gundurao, M.S. Narasimha Murthy, Padaki, Asaddulla Begh, Hiremagalur Kannan, Gana Vindodini Dundiraj, Dwarakanath will perform at the tenth version of “Haasya Mela”.
Leading theatre groups will perform plays Kala Gangothri – “Mysore Mallige”, Sanchari Theatru — “Kamalamani Kamidy Kalyana”, Antharanga – “Huttadalli Hutta”, Rupaantara – “Ramadhanya”, Ambari — “Maye Andre Maye”, Sanchaya — “Tadroopi” and Antaranga — “Shalabhanjike” as part of the seven-day drama festival “Ranga Saptaha” from November 15 to November 21 respectively.
On November 20, Makeup Nani Award will be presented to Mu.Chi.Ramakrishna by Mukyamantri Chandru. Senior theatre personalities Abbur Jayatheerta, Krishne Gowda, Basavalinghaiah will be honoured by C.R. Simha, Dr. B.V. Rajaram and Srinivasa G. Kappanna, respectively.
On November 21, Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambar and T.S. Nagabharana will participate in the valedictory function.
The programme for nine days will be at H.N. Kalakshetra, Jayanagar National College, Bangalore.
