PREVIEW Urshilla Dance Company presents “Hope for the Streetizens”

At 7 p.m. at the Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi today, Urshilla Dance Company will the presenting “Anurakti: Hope for the Streetizens”. A contemporary dance production choreographed, conceptualised and designed by Bhavini Misra, “Anurakti” is an initiative that aims to better, through dance, the future of young street children who beg for a living.

With strong contemporary dancing blended with the techniques of Mayurbhanj Chhau and Lyrical Jazz, as well as nuances of Kathak and street acrobats, Anurakti is a team of young artistes of contemporary dance along with street children and self-trained street acrobatic dancers.

Coming under one roof, they have created a unique piece that explores contemporary dance with new dimensions of lighting and multimedia. UDC has currently taken upon itself the dance education of six children who are performing.

The production will feature live music by Delhi Drummers and Antoine Rendon.

Tickets are available at in denominations of Rs. 100, Rs. 200 and Rs. 300. Donor passes and tickets are also available at the venue.
