From a channel devoted just to songs, Vh1 is now emerging as a channel which gives you information about the culture surrounding the music it promotes. The latest is “Daily 10” a fast-paced half hour show which gives not only the top 10 stories of the day, but also includes a potpourri of all the latest pop culture information that is capturing the public attention. The show’s hosts blend hip attitude, conversational style and a dash of irreverence and claim to bring viewers the scoop even before the magazines have it. It is sure to keep even the most obsessed pop culture addicts up-to-date!

Channel No.1

The battle for number one slot in different genres is heating up. In general entertainment category, Zee, Star Plus and Colors are having a close fight. According to TAM ratings, recently, Zee TV took the top slot but the margin between the three is very small. Things are not that fluid in the English news channel category, where Times Now, despite its shrill tone at times, is holding the top slot for the last six months. Meanwhile, UTV World Movies has climbed up to third spot in English movie channel space.

Earlier people the curiosity used to be about what women want. The jury is still not out on the timeless quandary but with women finding a foothold in public life, now the talk of the town is what men want. To clear the web, Rajiv Makhni, yes the cell guru, has come up with “Men Can’t Dance…and other myths!” on NDTV Good Times. Touted as a whacky chat show it aims to showcase how a man of today views his world – be it fashion, grooming, health, relationships, gadgets, cars and bikes. To star with Rajiv has got Rahul Bose. The actor gets out of his comfort zone and does something he hates doing – go shopping!


AXN has signed a strategic marketing and promotion alliance Paramount Pictures India. Under this association, forthcoming releases of Paramount Pictures will be promoted exclusively on the channel. This association has started with the theatrical release of the most anticipated sequel, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”.

Underlining the importance of the deal, Rohit Bhandari of AXN India says, “Theatrical releases from the stable of Paramount Pictures have always been quality blockbusters of their time.”
