EVENT Aligarh Muslim University is holding the 6th Filmsaaz International Film Fest in March.
The University Film Club of Aligarh Muslim University is organising the sixth edition of Filmsaaz International Film Fest this March. Established by some enthusiastic faculty members back in 1974 with the aim to promote cinematic culture among the students of AMU and to encourage a milieu where ‘poetry in motion’ becomes one of the great sources for their aesthetic and academic excellence. From Kanan Devi to Naseeruddin Shah, KA Abbas to Javed Akhtar, Shakil Badauni to Kaifi Azmi, the list of AMU alumni who left their mark in the film fraternity in terms of direction, screenplay, lyrics, music, etc. is endless. In recent times, Anubhav Sinha, who made his mark with “Ra.One”, is also a product of the institution. The Film Club strives to motivate the students towards the creative world of films by organising film festivals, workshops, lecture series and various other programmes.
Continuing the tradition, the 6th edition of the Filmsaaz, an international film festival of short films and documentaries, will be held from March 3 to 5 at the Kennedy Auditorium of the Aligarh Muslim University.
The entries festival must reach on or before February 24, 2013, along with the registration form and other necessary kit. For registration form, rules and regulations, visit the website of the University Film Club. (http://filmclub.amu.ac.in)
