The reality show that hit the small screen eight years ago with actor Lakshmi at the helm, is back. The show reaches out to housewives and working women. Interesting stories await viewers this time round too --- two warring villages and their quest for peace; a kidnapped child saved by a family in Kerala, who prefers them over his biological parents and a woman suffering from Muscular Dystrophy trying to find solace.

Jodi No.1 - Season 4

This season opens with a bang – grand sets, and interesting line-up of contestants, and two new judges – actors Radhika Sarath Kumar and Gauthami.

The jodis who will vie for the title are Sathish-Divyadarshini, Sherif-Saipromodhitha, Manikandan-Rajini, Premgopal-Premini, Suresh-Jayalakshmi, Wong-Sunita Gogai, Geethan Britto-Divya, Arun-Priya and Sai Karthik-Priya. This week's theme is ‘Mix-n-Match.' The dancing pairs are set to perform to nine different dancing genres.

Hariyudan Naan: Yaar Andha Naan?

Here's another music-based reality show. Playback singer Hariharan is on a quest… he's looking for five singers to join his music academy, and the top three among them will get an opportunity to sing with him for an album and in a mega show. A voice test was conducted in Coimbatore and Tiruchi and participants have been short-listed. Watch out for some interesting segments…

The protagonist of this new thriller is Oviya, a student of psychology. Her father Dr. Ravishankar is a psychiatrist. When a spate of murders is reported in the city, the police seek Dr. Ravishankar's help to solve the case. They discover a link to all the murders – the presence of Oviya and Nedumaran, a journalist and an expert on paranormal behaviour, at the scene of the crime. How are the two involved? What is the motive?

The cast includes Ammu, Mahalakshmi, Ravi Raghavendra, Afsar Babu and Sujatha. The story is by Rathna Sathya and M.K. Arunthavaraja. The serial is directed by M.K. Arunthavaraja.

Destiny of a Man

(Makkal TV, Sunday, 2 p.m.)

Watch Sergei Bondarchuk's award-winning Russian film in Ulaga Thirai Pada Varisai. The film adaptation of the novel by Mikhail Sholokhov revolves round Andrey Sokolov, whose life is crippled by World War II.

His wife and daughter are killed during the bombing of his village and he is taken prisoner. His son too is killed in action a few days before victory. Sokolov (played by the film's director Bondarchuk) marches with the Soviet Army towards Berlin and finds a new destiny with a young orphaned boy.
