Integrated Academy for Performing Arts in association with Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is organising the annual namasankeertanam festival from November 22 to December 6, at Dr. Nalli Gana Vihar, T. Nagar, Chennai. For the past six years this festival has been attracting huge audiences from different quarters as namasankeertanam reaches people from different walks of life, is more participative and has less of grammar.This year's programme will be inaugurated by Sagadapuram Srividya Peetam Jagadguru Sri Vidyabinava Krishnanatha Teertha Shankaracharya Swamigal on November 23, 5.30 p.m. at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. This will be followed by Pithukuli Murugadas group's bhajan concert. The Bhagavatha Seva Trust function will be held on December 3 wherein special honours will be conferred on all the bhagavathars who have been performing yeoman services to namasankeertanam. On Sunday (December 3), Kanchi Acharyas Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal will confer the title, Sankeertana Kalanidhi on mridanga vidwan Mozhaiyur Sri Ramamoorthy Iyer, honouring his services for over five decades of service to sampradaya namasankeertanam.Rasikas will have the opportunity to listen to different aspects of sampradaya bhajans like Thodaya Mangalam.
