EVENT There will be a music festival in Mysore with top-notch artistes

Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy is organising a National Seminar and Music Festival -- “Nada Taranga”. The event will be held in Rangayana, Mysore on January 18 and 19.

The event is conceptualised by Vyjayanthi Kashi, Chairperson, Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, and will focus on the journey of the evolution of music starting from the Vedas to today’s fusion music. The morning sessions begin at 10.30 a.m. at Sriranga Theatre, on the premises of Rangayana. The seminars will feature lecture demonstrations by various scholars.

IN the evenings there will be music that will be similar to the chanting in Samaveda, gamaka, janapada, katha keerthana, vachana sangeetha, classical music, sugama sangeetha, tala vadya and today’s fusion music.
