Book Chintakindi Srinivasa Rao’s book is his doctoral work on Naani, an emerging free verse form.
The literary acumen of writer and senior journalist Chintakindi Srinivasa Rao came in for praise at Public Library Visakhapatnam. The occasion was the release of his latest work Navya Kavita Rupam Naani – Vivechana ; a research work that got him a PhD in Telugu literature. He made an exclusive and extensive study of Naani, an emerging form of expression in free verse domain on contemporary Telugu literary scene. Naani comprises four lines and is written using exactly 26 characters. While the first two lines espouse a thought, the next two lines are in support of the idea. With its built-in ease, sans intricate frills of prosody for composition, this form is beginning to catch up among youngsters. In his elaborate and panoptic study, Srinivasa Rao dealt with its diverse shades of expression on a wide range of issues of social relevance. With a sound grounding in Telugu literature particularly of classical genre, his flair for expression found abiding expression in prose. Steeped in a realistic approach to the life and its issues, his short stories stand out for their myriad charms of the north coastal dialect of Telugu and its nuances. His short stories won him Bharata Muni Award-2013 from Madanapalli-based literary forum Bharata Muni Arts Academy. Former Vice-Chancellor of Telugu University N. Gopi, renowned Sanskrit scholar A Gopalarao and Prof Elavarthi Viswanadha Reddy of Kadapa underscored the literary flair of Srinivasa Rao.
