Excited! Rajeev Khandelwal will soon be seen in “Peter Gaya Kaam Se”.

After making a hard hitting debut with “Aamir”, one had expected Rajeev Khandelwal to sing more films but the talented actor is back to the medium, which made him a household name and gave a him a huge female fan following.

He is hosting the India version of the internationally acclaimed show, “Moment of Truth”. Called “Sach Ka Samna”, the show started this week on Star Plus.

Excerpts from a chat…

What is “Sach Ka Samna” all about…is the lie detector machine credible enough?

The participants have to go through a sort of sacchai ki agnipariksha. Assisted by a Polygraph machine, it will test honesty by testing the nerve, resilience and integrity of a contestant. The show takes its contestants down an emotional trip whereby answering lucid questions transform into nightmares. People would be able to relate to it, and would eventually help them introspect their respective lives.

As for polygraph machine, it has proved successful in 23 countries, so we trust it.

Why did you return to television?

I chose to do this show as the format and the importance of truth is highly conspicuous in my life. I could easily relate to it, as the show is about testing someone’s character, courage and grit.

Has hosting such a show, changed you in any way?

It has proved to be an eye opener for me. I personally have become less judgmental about people, as I believe there exist equal number of skeletons in my closet as well.

Will there be celebrity participants as well?

Yes, Bobby Darling, Vinod Kambli and Urvashi Dholakia will be some of the celebrities, seen in the initial episodes.

What about your film career?

I am shooting for UTV’s “Peter Gaya Kaam Se”, where I am playing Peter. An action adventure, it is being shot in Goa and only five days of shooting is left.
