Brahmotsavam is being celebrated from yesterday at Arulmigu Bhaktavatsala Perumal temple, Thiruninravur, (Ph: 044 – 2639 0434). Special programmes have been organised in connection with the utsavam, which will be celebrated till April 6. The deity will be taken out in a procession on different vahanams every day during the utsavam. ‘Thanga Garuda Sevai’ and Moolavar Pushpangi Sevai will be on March 30. The Moolavar, adorned with muthangi, will be taken to the temple car on April 3, on the occasion of the ‘Temple car festival.’ During the brahmotsavam, there will be special tirumanjanam at 10 a.m. and unjal sevai at 6.30 p.m. daily.
Alaya Kainkarya Sath Sangam, Chennai, and the locals of Kalpoondi Village, Tiruvannamalai district, performed the tirukalyna mahotsavam of Sri Visalakshi Ambal Samedha Sri Viswanatheeswarar, on March 26, between 8 and 11 a.m. Special pujas were performed in the evening and the utsavar idol of the goddess was taken out in a procession to the temple, at Kalpoondi Village, Arni Taluk, Tiruvannamalai district.
