Tyagaraja aradhana

Nada Sudha in association with Carnatica has organised Tyagaraja Aradhana on February 24, at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram Hall, Baby Nagar, Velachery. Music concerts, based on different themes, will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pancharatham Goshti Ghanam, led by Suguna Varadachari, will take place at 12 noon.

Award for artist

Nayaki inaugurates its 18{+t}{+h}annual music festival tomorrow at Abirami Chidambaram Community Hall, Kotturpuram. The fest will be held from February 23 to 25 and February 28 and from March 1 to 3. The sabha is honouring nagaswaram maestro M.P.N. Ponnuswamy with the Nayaki Award of Excellence.

U.Ve.Sa’s autobiography

This is with regard to the article ‘Grand Old Man of Thamizh’ (FR, Feb 15, Pg 1) on scholar Dr. U.Ve.Sa. In esponse to queries from readers, Pradeep Chakravarthy informs that ‘En Charitiram’ is available at the U.Ve.Sa Library, Arundale Beach Road, Besant Nagar, Chennai-90; ph: 044-24911697. The book costs Rs. 300. There is no English translation/audio book. The library has a small museum with photos and the librarian will show examples of his and his guru’s handwriting if requested.
