Fusion music

Afascinating fusion of sufi music titled ‘My Lord' by Kian Art Group — a Persian theatre and music group, was organised at NIFT auditorium, Madhapur on March 11.

The composer, singer and the founder of this group lend his unique style and voice to the verses of Rumi, rendered in Persian and sang some of his own compositions in English.

The versatile singer, Mohammed Nooran, delighted the audience with the evergreen old Hindi number — Yeh mera deewanapan hain , sung originaly by Mukesh while the band enthralled the crowd with their version of Jon Lenon's Imagine and Bob Dylan's Everybody must get stoned.

Iranian envoy to India, His Excellency Mahmoud Safari made a brief appearance at the concert.

The concert was organised by Runjhuna , (a high tide) initiative, to promote and encourage all kinds of artistic pursuits, especially music.
