Music concert

On the concluding day (Jan. 9) of their 28 {+t} {+h} music festival, being held from Dec. 16 to Jan. 9, Kalarasana has organised T.M. Krishna's vocal concert from 5 p.m. onwards. The four-hour concert will be held at Rani Seethai Hall. Krishna will be accompanied by R.K. Sriramkumar on the violin, Tiruchi Sankaran on the mridangam, N. Guruprasad on the ghatam and B.S. Purushothaman on the ganjira.Thirai Isai Tiruvizha by Sridhars' Navaraags, a music programme for three days, is dedicated to music directors, lyricists and playback singers – songs based on ragas, old and new hits is on from January 5 at 6.30 p.m.


The 26 {+t} {+h} year Anjaneyar Jayanthi festival at Sri Panchamukha Dwadhashabhuja Anjaneyar Jayanthi festival Committee (Ph: 2464 1753/97890 92690), P.K. Mahal, 20, Chitrakulam South Street, Mylapore, concludes on January 13, with a discourse on Sri Sita Ram Samrajya Pattabishekam' by Dhamal Ramakrishnan and Perundevi at 6.30 p.m.

The deity will be taken out in a procession around the four Mada streets at 8 p.m. This will be followed by ‘Sundara Kanda Parayanam Pattabishekam' by Balaji Swamigal.

Guru puja

Dasyam has organised guru puja in which obeisance will be paid to Dr. Padma Subrahmaniam. This will be followed by a function at which five artists of Dasyam, the dance school, will be conferred awards. The venue is R.K. Swamy Hall, Mylapore, date January 10 and time 4.30 p.m.
