Story of an architect who can shake a leg too.
Not the one to be perturbed by the image factor and the numbers game, Venkatesh retained the top slot for over a decade now with his wholesome entertainers. The actor is shooting for the pre-climax song sequence for Thulasi along with Nayanatara at Ramanaidu Studios, Nanakramguda. Directed by Boyapati Srinu of Bhadra fame the entire project was kept under wraps till the songs were released to the market on September 23. Lot of speculation went round like Venky plays Thulasi Reddy or Thulasi Naidu and it is an action flick coupled with faction elements. Now it is out that there is no such beaten track and Thulasi is an original that can inspire a trend. Venkatesh plays an architect and Nayanatara hailing from a large family lives with her brother (played by Sivaji). It is an action based family drama.
"I have done several films centered on emotional drama but Thulasi is special. Every scene in the film captivates the audience. The emotional upsurges are new and the action blocks coupled with chase sequences thrill taking them into a new experience in the world of entertainment," said Venkatesh at an earlier interaction. As we recollect that and follow the song track emanated from the nagra, Nayanatara places her steps swiftly giving lip sync to Chandra Bose’s lyric – Are thula thula thulasi nee joru thelisi vachchanu vala vesi set to tune by Devi Sri Prasad. In the album Tippu and Priya are credited as the singers. The title song comes as the last song in the movie just before the climax, we gather.
All through the filming, director Boyapati Srinu is parked before the monitor watching keenly as his lead actors enact. Boyapati Srinu is one of those young directors passionately in love with cinema. He has presented Ravitheja in an entirely new light in Bhadra and one expects him to repeat such feat with Venkatesh. "True. You will see a different Venkatesh. Entertainment unlimited is guaranteed from him. It is a screenplay game and if I open one lock then all the locks will be opened." His smile revealed his reluctance to divulge anything about the content.
Cinematographer Balamurugan and his assistants are changing the camera positions and in the meantime the lead pair poses for the still photographer for publicity pictures. Some portions of the song were earlier filmed at – Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios along with an item number, we are told. The director has placed them in such a way in his story (that he wrote along with Akula Siva with dialogue by Paruchuri Brothers) that they became part of the story and are not forced their way in. And the story travels to Germany and Austria too where along with two "situational songs, some talkie portions were also shot." The list of actors read like who is who of the Telugu film industry. Two names attracted our attention – Ramya Krishna and Shriya in special appearances. The film is slated for a mid-October release.
