The 53rd monthly music festival organised by the Tiruchirappalli Tamil Isai Sangam was held at the Tiruchi Tamil Sangam hall recently. The president of the Tamil Isai Sangam, L. N. Lakshmanan presided. A. Zameer Pasha, former state president of the Indian Medical Association, who was the chief guest, spoke on the rich heritage of the Tamil music and the need to protect the same. He also underlined the importance of scientific Tamil and taking effective steps for developing it. `Kamakoti sisters,' S. Jayamathangi and S. Jayabhargavi, presented a vocal concert. They were ably accompanied by Srirangam R. Lakshmi Narayanan (violin), Koppu G. Nagarajan (mridangam) and Pudukottai Divyaroopasarma (morsing).The secretaries of the Tamil Isai Sangam, K.
