Trichur Ramachandran was in fine form and the performance he rendered for Amirthavarshini Sangeetha Sabha, at Veda Bhavan Auditorium, Ranipet, recently, was one that will be remembered for long. Ramachandran maintains his GNB pani, especially in gamakas and karvais. M.A. Sundareswaran ably accompanied him on the violin while Shertalai Ananthakrishnan was on the mridangam.
In excellent orderTrichur Ramachandran was impressive right from the start of his performance with `Chalamela' in Nattakurinji, followed by `Guruvarulum Thiruvarulum' in Sriranjini. `Swaminatha Palaya' in Nattai and `Aananda Nadamadum Thillai' in Purvikalyani were excellently rendered. `Nannupalimpa' (Tyagaraja, Mohanam) touched the hearts of the rasikas and the swara prayogam and gamakas were in excellent order. C.S. Vijayaraghavan, secretary of the sabha, proposed a vote of thanks while S. Govindarajan (grandson of late musician Kaveripakkam Veeraraghavachariar) introduced the artistes.
