MUSIC Banyan Tree presents an innovative music programme in Mysore

Banyan Tree presents a musical programme called Swara – Music For Life. The event will be held on February 16 at Jaganmohan Palace Auditorium, Mysore, at 6.30 p.m. |

The event will feature a jugalbandi between S. Shashank (Carnatic flute) and Purbayan Chatterjee (sitar), this will be followed by an innovative ensemble Layatharanga by Giridhar Udupa (ghatam).

S. Shashank is considered one of the best bamboo flute artistes, and Purbayan, is noted for amalgamating traditional Indian classical music with contemporary world music genres.

Layatharanga is a musical ensemble from India, acclaimed worldwide for their spirited performances and bold innovations. The group specialises in world music – a musical form blending distinct styles from across the globe.

This team will feature Jayachandra Rao (mridanga), Arun Kumar (drums, konnakol), Pramath Kiran (congas), Mysore Karthik (violin) and Varun Pradeep (keyboard).
