A dambakkam Isai mandram Cultural Trust is conducting the Margazhi mahotsavam on December 18 and 19, at Sri Rajavinayakar Bhakta Mandali, V.V. Colony, Adambakkam.

Students of Uma Chandru will render Tiruppavai hymns on December 18, 5 p.m.

The programme on the 19 {+t} {+h} will have Tiruvembavai verses recital by the students of Vasanti Gopal at 5 p.m. followed by J.S. Eswaraprasad's ‘Krishnam Vandhe Jagathgurum' nrithyasangeetam at 6.30 p.m. He will be accompanied by J. Sathyasriram and K.V. Sairam (vocal), O. Rajasekar (violin), Ch. Ramakrishna (mridangam) and Gopalakrishnan (dolki).

Sri Sadguru Sangeetha Sabha inaugurates its 26th year margazhi mahotsavam on December 17, 5 p.m. with Kundrathur Muninathan's nagaswaram recital. The nine-day music festival, to be held at Sri Sathsangam, Pammal, concludes on Decemebr 25.

K.S. Kalidoss, disciple of mridangam maestro, Palani Subramaniya Pillai, will be the chief guest. A. Ramji, former general manager, Railways, and P.N. Viswanathan, deputy general manager, SBI, Chennai, will be the guests of honour. This will be followed by the vocal concert of Hyderabad Sisters at 6.45 p.m. For details call 2248 0163.
